***SOME HELPFUL SUGGESTIONS ABOUT PARKING ON RACE DAY***
Parking on the streets closest to the start and finish area will be limited. The left side of Glenbrook Road leading up to the finish line will be roped off to create space for finishing runners. Also, we are using the Mantua Swim & Tennis Club parking lot for the event so there will be NO parking in that lot on race day. Here (see map below) is what we suggest for parking options:
1. Easiest parking with about a 5 minute warmup walk: Thaiss Park baseball field is located at 3401 Pickett Road, Fairfax, VA 22031. There is a large parking lot located at the ball field. You can park your car and walk between the baseball fields through the opening of the fence onto Santayana Drive. It's about a 3-minute walk to the intersection of Mill Springs Drive. Take a right onto Mill Springs Drive and walk about 3 minutes then take a left onto Glenbrook, walk one block, and enter the Mantua Pool parking lot.
2. There is a path that leads to the back side of the Mantua Pool parking lot that people in the neighborhood use to walk to the pool. Five cul-de-sacs connect with this path (in order of longest to shortest walk; Tovito Drive, Convento Terrace, Hamilton Drive, St. Marks Place, and Christopher St)
